How to Search for Employees, Save Frequent Searches/Views, and Report upon Employee Info
The employee search grid is where users can search for particular employees using filters to restrict the search results. The various filters that can be used to restrict the employee search grid are explained below.
"Clear Filters" is used to reset all filters. Alternate method: X out of each field individually.
"Name" will restrict the employee grid based on employee name.
"Job Title" will restrict the employee grid based on job title.
"Credentials" will restrict the employee grid based on credentials.
"Cost Center" will restrict the employee grid based on cost center.
"Department" will restrict the employee grid based on their department.
"Status" will restrict the employee grid based on their status.
"Date of Birth" will restrict the employee grid based on date of birth.
"Gender" will restrict the employee grid based on gender.
"Active" will restrict the employee grid based on active status.
"Termination status" will restrict the employee grid based on termination status.
The characters shown above (from left to right) include the following: "edit views", "choose view ", and "save view". A "view" is a snapshot of a filtered grid view. After setting the filters to the desired settings, a user can click on the "save view" button to save a snapshot of the filtered grid view. From there, views can be further edited by clicking on the "edit views" button. Doing this takes the user to a pop up screen where the list of saved views can be managed. Choosing a particular view is done by using the drop down box and selecting that view from the list.
By clicking on the "export" button on the lower left corner of the grid view, the user is presented with a print-friendly grid containing all of the employees information currently selected from the employee grid view.
It is especially important that the filters are used prior to clicking on export, because the report will present anything that is displayed in the employee search grid. In the example above, the employee search grid has been filtered by employee name.
